I’m a non-binary young adult living in Finland. I love nature, my friends and family, my cats and animals in general – especially cats, dogs and horses. But pretty much every animal is precious in my mind. My hearts aches for the fact that I don’t have my own best friend dog yet, but I actually have my hands full (and my wallet empty) with my cats already.
When I learned to read – at the age of 5 – I used to read everything I could get in my hands. I even learned to read upside down, because I wanted to read the morning paper at the same time as my dad did, on the other side of the table. A few years flew by, and I focused mainly in Donald Duck comics and children’s books, or even young adult books. I used to practice drawing Donald’s nephews, and I actually got quite good at it! My favorite comic artist was and still is Don Rosa – I got blown away by the details and the hidden humor in the panels, every single time.
When I was about 10 years old, I made my own very first comic: it was about me and my imagination, basically a comic about me playing.
After 15 years, I actually decided to pick my pen and start drawing comics again. I had not lost the artist in me in the meantime: I just had been doing other things, like composing music or practising piano, or writing, or drawing sketches or some bigger works of art, or knitting something with as much passion as with any other form of art. And a good amount of time I used healing my hands, which happen to be quite sensitive to many things nowadays – and no wonder, since I’ve been using them a lot. Because my hands are like that, some pauses in the flow of my comics might and very possibly will appear. So be patient with me!
I’ll be posting my other arts on instagram (@artofnubba).
